VIDEO: Trailer for "The Soloist"

 

August 21, 2009 - Anyone who reads the Los Angeles Times couldn't help but be riveted by the Nathaniel Ayers story, a Julliard-trained musician who, because of his mental illness, becomes homeless. He is befriended by a columnist who lends a hand in rediscovering his true passion; the unlikely friendship was documented in "The Soloist," which was released earlier this year. ROBERT DOWNEY JR., who knows a thing or two about being down and out, plays newspaperman Steve Lopez, who drives a SAAB 900 from the early 90s; we see plenty of shots of it in this trailer. We see that its hatchback capabilities come in handy when transporting bulky items, such as a cello. - Liz Kim
