VIDEO: Trailer for "National Lampoon's Vacation"
August 10, 2009 - We're heartbroken. The preeminent raconteur of 80s adolescent angst, JOHN HUGHES, died Thursday at the hearty and hale age of 59. Although he was best known for his teenage romps starring a certain pouty redhead, one of our favorite movies of all times was the original "National Lampoon's Vacation." Setting off on their cross-country adventure in a pea-green Wagon Queen Family Truckster (a heavily disguised FORD LTD COUNTRY SQUIRE), the Griswolds encounter all manner of adventures on their way to Wally World. The movie gave us one of the immortal lines of cinema, "You may think you hate it now, but just wait 'til you drive it." Here's to you, Mr. Hughes. - Liz Kim
