Funeral vehicle for helicopter crash victims

 August 14, 2009 - We have a Pavlovian response when we hear about any kind of airline mishap in NYC airspace; we hold our breath, and, even though any kind of plane crash is a tragedy, we breathe a sigh of relief when we're assured that it was a mere accident, and not the result of some nefarious plot. Such was the case with the awful collision between a sightseeing helicopter and a small airplane over the Hudson. Our interest piqued even further as we saw footage of the funeral cortege of the victims in Italy; the hearses are based on the sleek MERCEDES-BENZ CLS 550, one of the best looking vehicles on the road today.
