July 22 --- Being patriotic means that we have to keep those illegal outsiders out in order to maintain the American way, right? RIGHT? Well, sometimes things are not so simple, as the movie "Crossing Over" posits. In it, HARRISON FORD plays an Immigration and Naturalization Service officer who is torn between the upholding the letter of the law, as is his job, and compassion for his fellow human beings, whom he begins to see as individuals rather than mere outlaws. As with most law enforcement agencies, the wheels for the INS is the inevitable FORD CROWN VICTORIA. We kind of miss the days when Harrison Ford played the good guy hero with no complicated moral quandaries. - Liz Kim
