Halle Berry and the Lexus RX400h

 April 22, 2009 -  We're marking GreenWeek by highlighting the newest cars that you're favorite celebrities are driving.  Ya gotta give the lady props for trying. Glassy-eyed immortal HALLE BERRY already drives a LEXUS RX400H hybrid as her daily ride. Super - but between pulling a fully loaded SUV with all the luxury goodies inside and producing a respectable 268 total horsepower, the 3.3-liter V6 it really only gets about 25 miles to the gallon. So maybe it was subconscious wishful thinking that got her mistakenly putting diesel fuel into the tank. No worries - the paparazzi stopped her before she did any real damage to her Lexus. Diesel may evoke images of noxious fumes and truck-stop grit, but the latest low-sulfur versions emit very little, and gives terrific mileage to boot: We were able to effortlessly achieve 48 miles to the gallon in a sporty little VOLKSWAGEN JETTA TDI. - Liz Kim
